“Firemen never die, they just burn forever in the hearts of the people whose lives they saved.” ~Susan Diane Murphree

Andrew “AJ” Johnson tragically lost his life in an automobile accident on December 4, 2008. He was a dedicated firefighter for the City of Raleigh Fire Department and also volunteered as a Captain for the Archer Lodge Fire Department.

Andrew was an inspiration to all those who knew him. Andrew was passionate about training and the fire department, he volunteered his time to help others become better firefighters. As a result of his passion for public service this 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will be held to raise awareness and funds for those organizations that Andrew supported and valued. The organizations that will be benfiting from this event will be the following charities this year; North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation, the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center and the Archer Lodge Volunteer Fire Department Training Fund.
